When King Solomon constructed his first Temple in Jerusalem, the hillside on which he did so became the most important cultic site of the monotheistic world, and is still revered to this day. We start our day by visiting the Temple Mount. Then we visit the Bethesda Pool, where the rain runoff was collected in a reservoir during the temple days. Next, we’ll explore the Southern Wall Archaeological Park on the southwestern corner of Temple Mount. Here you can walk on the very street that was in use 2,000 years ago, and view other archaeological remains. We’ll also visit the magnificent Davidson Visitors Center to see its virtual-reconstruction interactive model and the film that depicts ancient pilgrimage to the Temple in a unique way. Next, we’ll visit the Western Wall, the last remnant of the Herodian Temple Mount destroyed by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago. Finally we join a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels to discover other massive part of the Western Wall as the open-air portion.
